Bogdan Cornea is an art historian and writer based in Amsterdam.
Bogdan studied for an M.A. in Art and Literature at Leiden University before completing his PhD at the University of York with a thesis on materiality and violence in the art of Jusepe de Ribera.
His academic research has been published in journals including the Revue européenne d'histoire and the Open Arts Journal.
He taught at the University of York and lectured at several other universities, including Leiden, Cambridge and the Humboldt Universität.
Bogdan's forthcoming book: The Matter of Violence in Baroque Painting will be published in 2021 by Amsterdam University Press.
Bogdan enjoys working as a private tour guide in museums and cities across Europe, including Amsterdam, The Hague, Naples, Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin, and London, and I feel very lucky he'll be joining Art Historical London!
