About the Event
Please join us at the Foundling Museum, London, as we deliver an art historical talk on the start of more sophisticated levels of artistic achievement in Britain during the 18th century, and a growing interest in landscape painting in particular. Many people are familiar with the landscapes by artists like Constable and Turner, but the seeds for these highly imaginative paintings lay in the late 18th century and artists like Thomas Gainsborough and Joseph Wright of Derby.
This talk does not require any previous knowledge and serves as an introduction to the British golden age of landscape.
You will be redirected to the Foundling Museum website for booking.
