About the Event
(image Tavern Interior by Pieter Pietersz, 1580, The Phoebus Foundation)
Time to address the extremely inventive, skilled and clever artists and the exceptional circumstances in the city of Antwerp during the late Renaissance and early Baroque period that brought about a change in art history.
We will touch upon masters like Brueghel and Rubens but also highlight other artists incremental in the development of genres not previously existing, but instrumental for the developments in Italy, England, but most of all the Netherlands.
