From his mother, to his wives, daughters, the Virgin Mary, and his many female patrons - women played an extremely important and deeply emotional role in Rubens' life. The portraits of these woman show a great tenderness, admiration and depth, making Rubens' women so much more than voluptious sex symbols.
This talk will highlight them, their inspiration, their image and their influence, quoting the current exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery London and  many of his artworks on show around the world.

The exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery: Rubens & Women will be on from 27 September 2023 - 28 January 2024
