The Theosophical journey of Mondrian and Kandinsky
Fri, Oct 29
|Hybrid lecture (available in person/online)
Founded in 1875, Theosophy became the new age philosophy-espoused by artists & writers, trying to make sense of religious beliefs in a world which was becoming dominated by new scientific advances. We'll look at how these new ideas informed the abstract compositions of ‘the fathers’ of abstract art.
