Private Tour: Landscape art at the National Gallery (21/2/20)

In the history of European art, landscape became a subject in its own right only in the 17th century. Until then it was but a stage for story telling. Throughout its history artists used composition, lighting, symbolism and colour to give their landscapes very specific characteristics.

During this one hour tour through the National Gallery we will trace the development of landscape painting from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.
