Care and compassion: Portable works of Art

Many early European paintings were made to be carried with you. Not meant to be hung on a wall these images have fronts and backs of equal importance, they often have intricate encasings and they were meant to be handled: kissed and stroked. In this one hour talk we will look at some of these works.
