About the Event
This one hour lecture will dive into life in 17th century Europe, the Dutch Golden Age in art and Rembrandt's trajectory within it, using examples from the Timken Museum of Art. We will we follow Rembrand's development from a young ambitious man in Leiden, to one of the most successful portraitists of Amsterdam, to a man broken by the misfortunes in his personal life.
