About the Event
David Hockney fits in a long history of landscape artists depicting the world around them because they wanted to capture the poetic beauty of nature and how we experience this. Throughout his life Hockney had always loved and depicted landscapes, but it was especially after 2000 when he moved back to the UK to East Yorkshire when landscape art became his main focus. His shadowless depictions of nature with bold colours and multiple perspectives in which everything is equally in focus create an intense and exciting world. He makes us travel through time and space of seemingly ordinary landscapes in an adventurous, interesting and engulfing way. Join us as we chronologically follow his journey in discovering how he wants to capture and display the world around us.
