Wednesday May 4th Artistic Chelsea 10:30am-12:45pm
Home to the famous and infamous, Chelsea attracted artists and writers as well as some of the finest domestic architects to create the perfect places to live and work. On this flat walking tour around the delightful streets of Chelsea, we will pass the former studio houses of artists including John Singer Sargent, Holman Hunt and Rossetti, the site of Whistler's famous White House and the houses designed by Norman Shaw, Godwin, Ashbee and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. There will be lots of other famous names too! Find out why Oscar Wilde described one street as "full of wonderful possibilities" and its link to a famous painting now in Tate Britain.
Only 15 places so book early! (if we do not get to 10 people, the tour will not go ahead)
The Tour starts outside Sloane Square tube station.
Please wear a mask and follow social distancing protocol.
The group will be kept small and will be guided by Gavin Webb who has been fully vaccinated.
On booking or confirming your place on a walk we will send you an e-mail confirming specific instructions for the meeting point, the location of the first stop on the walk, where the walk ends, and Gavin's mobile number (if you have not received this within 24 hours of the walk please contact Art Historical London).
Unless the weather conditions are really extreme (and we’re talking “don’t go outdoors” weather warning extreme here) or there is some kind of catastrophic transport failure your guide will be there at the meeting point at the appointed time.
We are not able to offer Creditor tickets. Please know you can still pay offline, but will need to book a regular ticket.
No recording is made.
