About the Event
Born into a creative family of painters, sculptors and architects, Alberto Giacometti devoted most of his career to the relationship of bodily forms with their surrounding space.
His elongated and lonely figures are some of the most recognisable sculptures of modern art.
Responding to the suffering and devastation of postwar Europe, Giacometti’s work offers a different perspective of history, and a meditation on the human condition. They are imbued with emotional intensity and timeless qualities that continue to inspire and resonate with contemporary artists.
