About the Event
Berthe Morisot (1841-1895) was born into a well to-do family and educated within the conventions of a young woman of her class. Â Excelling at drawing and encouraged by her mother she developed into a professional artist exhibiting at the Paris Salon. Â A close friendship with Edouard Manet, (she married his brother) saw her style develop to a light impressionist style with subjects focused on the feminine and domestic.
