FREE: Laundry in Art

Dutch 17th c genre pictures represented scenes of daily life, among them laundry. This theme took on even greater importance in the 19th c., inspired by concepts of “womanly virtue”, realist attempts to document the lives of working women, and the poetry of the everyday.
