In person: Battersea Power station area, a private tour

The area south of the River Thames opposite Westminster and Chelsea has transformed quickly. A pivotal moment was when the Americans decided to locate their new embassy building in Nine Elms. Another important step forward was taken when Damien Hirst set up a gallery, including a restaurant called Pharmacy, opposite the railway arches in Vauxhall. The area is slowly becoming a “happening place” and includes art galleries, various restaurants under the refurbished railway arches and two new tube stations.

Unless the weather conditions are really extreme (and we’re talking “don’t go outdoors” weather warning extreme here) or there is some kind of catastrophic transport failure your guide will be there at the meeting point at the appointed time.

Please bring your walking shoes, and remember that the walk may include uneven surfaces and climbing of some stairs.
