About the Event

This talk by Cindy Polemis, ties in with the exhibition at Tate Modern: Expressionists Kandinsky, Munter and the Blue Rider.

(Exhibition date 24 April-20 October, Tate Modern)

The birth of European Expressionism is the story of a ground-breaking circle of friends and artistic colleagues known as the Blue Rider. In the early 20 th century they rallied around artists Wassily Kandinsky and Gabriele Munter to form what they called ‘a union of various countries to serve one purpose-to transform modern art.’ They created bold, bright experiments in the emotional power of colour at a time of political and social upheaval.

Cindy Polemis looks at the friendships that made modern art.

Upon booking an automated email will be send to you including instructions on how to join.

A replay will be made available to members of our database.
